If you are interested in a great self-defense activity, you may want to take up wing chun Kung Fu which is a Chinese martial art that utilizes both striking and grappling. The real creator or creators of Wing Chun are not really known but there is a common legend about its origin. This is a legend about a woman named Yim Wing-Chun who was proposed to by a local warlord.
Yim Wing-Chun told the local warlord that if he beats her in a martial art match, she will reconsider his proposal. The legend goes on to say that soon after challenging the warlord to the martial art match, she met a Buddhist nun named Ng Mui who based on his observation of a confrontation between a crane and a snake, taught her a new form of martial art. Using this form of martial art, Yim Wing-Chun was able to defeat the local warlord and was able to marry the many she loved, Leung Bac-Chou to whom she taught this new style of martial art which was later name after her.
Wing Chun places a lot of focus on a person’s body structure. It is believed that a person with a better body structure will be able to win based on the fact that he will be able to recover more quickly from attacks and will be able to maintain his structure.
